Become an Attractive Person
The story is told that one of Abraham Lincoln’s advisers, urgently recommended a candidate for appointment to Lincoln’s cabinet, but Lincoln declined to follow his friend’s suggestion. When asked to give his reason Lincoln said, “I don’t like the man’s face.” “But the poor man is not responsible for his face,” insisted his supporter. Lincoln replied, “Every man over 40 is responsible for his face”.
While this is hilarious and demonstrates the humor of President Lincoln, there is great wisdom in these words. It’s clear from this story that we choose how other people respond to us, regardless of our looks. Our outlook, therefore, is more important than our looks. The presence we project is more important than the dress-sense we live by. Our attitude is more important than our appearance. Focus more on your outlook, your inner presence and your attitude. It is inner qualities like these that will endear you to the success or significance that you desire in life.
